Meet Vinny

Vinny Smith was born in Brooklyn, NY, grew up in Queens, and moved to
Durham, NC when he was 15 years old after his father retired from the NYPD. He graduated from Charles E. Jordan High School in Durham in 1988 and then went on to graduate from the US Naval Academy in 1993. He was a 3-sport athlete at the Naval Academy participating in football, track & field, and boxing. In addition to this, Vinny was also elected Class Secretary. While serving as a Naval Intelligence Officer, he earned a Master’s Degree in Management and a PhD in Business Management.

After 5 years of military service, he was honorably discharged in 1998 and returned to NC with his wife, Tonda, and their two children, Moriah and Caleb. Vinny is a devoted man of God, sharing his love for God and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through prayer ministry. He served alongside his parents in Christian Ministry for almost two decades and is the author of 6 Christian books. He has worked in Corporate America for over 25 years in sales, marketing, and market development. Along with his son Caleb,

Vinny is co-founder and co-owner of NC Esports Academy where they provide year-round STEM Camps, Technology Programs, and Esports Teams for youth. They are also co-founders of EdTech Unite which is a 501(c)3 that provides the above programs for At-Risk Youth, Youth in Underserved Communities, and Youth with Autism.

Vinny enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, continuing to be a mentor for his adult children, and fighting for freedom with the Constitution Party.
